Hi James, I am an Android hobbyist as well and recently have run into an issue with Android involving Voice Recognition. Suppose you have a menu of four items (Option 1, Option 2, etc.) I have tried to implement some sort of service which will continuously check for a users voice. When the user says “Option 1″ it will open up that activity or perform and action. Have you done anything like this? I have looked at the APIs and all that Ive been able to implement it if the user presses a button but not if its constantly checking.

      Hi John,

That should be possible, you’d have to do some sort of looping over voice checking and wait until the interpreter hears “option 1″. Getting the app to constantly listen will be the harder part, but as soon as it grabs hold of “option 1″ that will be easy to fire off an activity.

      Thanks
      J
